disneyland

With tickets about to expire, Kyle took the day off of work and we went to Disneyland. We planned on staying as long as we possibly could. Our first mission was to find Elsa and Anna. We had heard the line was about 2 hours long so we got to the park early (8am and they opened at 9am). They opened the gates at 8:30am. Kyle rushed to the princess line and Olivia and I stopped to say hit to Minnie.

Apparently at 8:30am they open the main gates but then block you off at the end of Main Street until 9am. Baby ducks following their mom walked in front of the castle, pretty cute. So everyone was ready to run to the Elsa and Anna line. We decided Kyle would push Livi in the stroller and I would run. The rope went down and it was a full on sprint to the line.

So while I waited in the hour and 50 minute long line, Olivia and Kyle went off to have fun.

Elsa and Anna were sooooooo lame. Boring and it seemed like they hated their job. Olivia didn't care and loved it.

Kyle had heard from a worker that because of his leg, he could go get a pass that would let us go in front of lines. While he went to do that, Olivia and I saw more princesses. A 12 minutes line to see Aurora, Ariel and Cinderella.

So we were done with the princesses. Next was Splash Mountain. On our way Kyle and Olivia went up in Tarzan's tree house.

Splash Mountain (which Olivia actually really liked)

We read there was some sort of Mickey show so we stopped to watch it. We happened to walk in with a boy Olivia's age with 2 prosthetic legs. A worker ushered us all over to handicap seating with a great view and padded seats.

After dinner we stopped by the Lego store to waste more time.

A guy was walking by Kyle and his mouth dropped and said, "Whoa!" and just stared at Kyle's leg. Soon Kyle had 6 or 7 college guys surrounding him all in awe of his leg. They were in town for some sort of robot/machine/computer building event and thought the leg was super cool.

14 hours and we survived. Great day.

gavin's house

Finn and Enzo (kids who used to go to Olivia's preschool and Gavin's best friends) were in town and Finn needed girls to play with so Sara invited us over for a bbq. Yes, to use us for our child. They had a bounce house (for 6 kids) which was awesome cause the parents got to sit and hang out.

Kyle hadn't been in a bounce house with his new leg and it wasn't easy so he just took it off.

zoo...again

To compare knees, we went to the zoo again. We have a membership to the zoo and go often. It is all hills and plenty of walking which is a good test to see how the knee holds up.
