park

I haven't posted much on this blog in a while. Kyle has been on a loaner crappy leg which means he has to "take it easy" according to Olivia. We still do the usual: park, scooter, kitchen dance parties.

The Genium leg arrived in the office last week and the goal is to have it ready by Wednesday (day before our trip). He also got a running leg donated by Ottobock, which is awesome, mostly because it's waterproof! We are so excited.

Kyle just stopped the pill form of chemo he was on and waiting for scans mid November to see what the next plan is.

Meanwhile...we have fun...

Olivia and I were hanging out at home while Kyle was at work. She decided to stick her pencil up her nose. I took a picture and sent it to Kyle.

He replied with:

santa barbara

For being a guest in the audience of the Ellen show, we received a free weekend stay at the Fess Parker in Santa Barbara. Beautiful hotel right across the street from the beach. The weather was perfect and we had lots of fun playing at the beach, scootering and swimming in the pool.

Kyle's friend Sean, generously offered to fly us up to his house for a few days in Seattle. It was a much needed mini vacation to get away from our normal lives. 

We had such a great time tubing on the lake, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing at the park, walking around the neighborhood, sight seeing, and playing at the beach club.

Today we met up with friends at the La Mirada water park. We attempted to saran wrap and duct tape Kyle's leg to protect it, but he was nervous about it getting wet so went leg less. That didn't stop Kyle from the lazy river or slides.  A water leg would be really nice!

man date

Kyle, Eran and Michael went on another man date. This time to Racer's Edge. Kyle came home stinking like teenage boy and was proud to show me his race results.

While Olivia and I were out in the garden enjoying a picnic with jazz music, Kyle was out being manly in the heat shooting guns. Michael (Gavin's dad) asked Kyle and Eran (Elise's dad) to go skeet shooting with him. Kyle's thought was "I don't know what to think about this" but I encouraged him to have an open mind about it. He liked it a lot and thought it was fun. They have already bought groupons for their date next month -
go-karting. I know, sounds pretty awesome.
